Brandie Button is a Star! Brandie Button is a special star! She's having trouble getting around--but she has lots of love and care from her friend, Lissa. She does everything and anything she can to keep Brandie Button moving. You can see the life and love in her eyes, even while she's trying to adapt to her new challenges. She has severe arthritis, not uncommon in this special senior of age 13 - but she's still feisty and full of life. Brandie's our newest star!
Holly is a Star! Holly is one special lady--no matter what life throws at her. She's a fun, boisterous, loveable Boxer. Holly has had a lot to endure--operations, skin cancer, and pancreatitus, but her doggie determination to carry on has always pulled her through. This past August she had her toughest battle yet, she had her right hind leg amputated due to cancer. Two weeks after the operation, she was running and trying to jump up and down - an inspiration to everyone. Her friend, Janet, is by her side helping her every step of the way. Holly recently celebrated her 12th birthday and she is still going strong. Holly we're cheering for you--you're definitely a special star!
Jacque's a Star!
Jacque is a star! He is 10 years old and going strong. He became paralyzed 7 years ago, and is cared for by his special friend, Carol. She spoils him and makes sure he has a great life. He is one very happy dog. You go, Jacque! Keep rollin’ along and enjoying life.
Inara is a star! Inara is a star! She was born deaf but loves life more then any dog we know. Not scared of anything, and wanting to give back to everyone that loves her, she has started training as a Search & Rescue dog. www.GoodDog-K9Obedience.com. You go, girl! Hector's a Star! Hector the basset is 7 years old and he's been off his feet after an operation on a back disc but the good news is he's making steady progress with his friend, Barbara, by his side. As he takes his first steps, and even a bit of a run, he has a cheering squad to help him along. Hector we wish you a full recovery!
Kandu's a Star! Kandu has had some amazing adventures. He never complains and his vibrant, joyful spirit is contagious. Kandu has a few guardian angels that have helped him over the last few years. Ken and Melissa are now on a mission with him. They visit hospitals and give others joy and hope. Kandu is part of "Healing Friends," a group of pets and their owners that makes daily visits to the hospital to provide companionship for patients and others. Kandu is particularly special because he was born without his front two legs. It's been a dream come true for Kandu's friends--Kandu is helping others by his own amazing success story. Go Kandu! You're a Star!
Daisy Doodle's a Star! Daisy Doodle has challenges but love will see her through. She's a sweet two year old dachsie learning how to adapt to back problems, with the love of Carla, her very best friend. Three of her little back discs haven't been cooperating. She's always alert and loving and has a great family to help her--in her time of need. Daisy Doodle, you can do it!
Shadow's a Star! Shadow the black and white Bernese Mountain dog has had challenges. Shadow's a Star! He has had bone cancer. He had surgery and it took him months to recover when they removed part of his jaw but he had Jan and Mike by his side to help him every step of the way. Since his friend Shasta hangs out with him that makes her a star too! That's what happens when you hang out with celebrities. Shadow is now 13 and he is adored and loved. He is no longer in pain and we give him a big round of applause. He doesn't let his special challenges get him down. He has a great family to help him. Go Shadow!
Tilly's a Star! Tilly the Terrier’s a Star! Cancer (fibrosarcoma) didn’t get her down. After having her front leg amputated it was rough but she didn’t give up. She’s a fighter and with her beloved friends by her side she fought for her life. She still gets tired easily but enjoys short walks (yes, on three legs) and rides in the car. Her owners savor every precious moment with her. With that much love, her sweet and indomitable spirit and great care---she’s fighting on. Go, Tilly! You’re a star!
Sable's a Star! Sable's a star! She is loved by Connie, who adopted her. Sable's first owner passed away, after a battle with cancer. Now, she is facing a new challenge, her back legs are starting to give out. With the love and devotion of Connie, she will certainly face her new challenge with the same joyous spirit that she's always greeted each new day. Sable is 10 1/2 years old and weighs in at 70 pounds. Our hats are off to this special 'ol gal with her special challenges. Remember, Sable, you can do it!
Poncho's a Star! My name is Poncho and I'm a very handsome (just look at my picture).
My foster mom rescued me from a shelter where I was placed because I'm deaf. My foster mom says I'm the easiest dog she has ever trained. She says that either I'm very smart or she's a good trainer. I'm very smart! That's why I'll let her think it's her.
Deaf dogs need what all dogs need -- lots of love, care, attention and simple training. We want to be your very best animal friend. We can adapt and it doesn't bother us that we can't hear. As long as you love us, that's all we need!
Charley Bear's a Star! Charley Bear is a very special, beautiful dog. The picture says it all--Charley Bear is loved by Jana who has a heart to help disabled dogs and dogs with special needs.
Lars is a Star! Lars, a beautiful Great Dane, is a new star! He has neurological problems but is still a very happy guy, thanks to his great friend, Lauri. He’s not in any pain and he’s being taken care of like a beloved member of the family. Do you need a tip for a dog that might have lost bladder control? Lauri recommends “Depends” with a hole cut in the back for the tail. Go Lars! Keep on enjoying life.
